A former Halliburton executive has been hired to lead McJunkin Red Man Corp., a wholesale distributor of industrial and oil-field supplies based in Tulsa and Charleston, W.Va.

Andrew Lane takes over as McJunkin Red Man's CEO effective immediately, the company announced this week.

Lane spent 22 years with international oil service giant Halliburton Co., including the past three years as chief operating officer before retiring at the end of 2007, according to reports. Last year, Houston-based Halliburton generated more than $15 billion in revenue.

Lane replaces CEO Craig Ketchum, whose father, Lewis Ketchum, started Red Man Pipe and Supply 31 years ago in Tulsa. Craig Ketchum now serves as chairman of the board for McJunkin Red Man Holding Corp.

"We are excited to have Andrew join us as chief executive officer as we head toward the next stage of our business," Craig Ketchum said. "His two decades of experience at Halliburton will no doubt be valuable as we look to expand within North America and globally."

Lane will have offices at both "co-headquarters" in Tulsa and Charleston, company Vice President Terry Saint said Friday. The larger company was formed when Tulsa-based Red Man Pipe and Supply Co. merged with Charleston-based McJunkin Corp. late last year.

"McJunkin Red Man plays an important role in the supply chain of our customers as they strive to meet today's demands for energy," Lane said in a statement.

Privately held McJunkin Red Man distributes pipes,
valves and fittings for the energy industry. It employs about 3,000 people, including 240 in Tulsa, and has more than 200 locations throughout the United States, Canada and Nigeria, according to reports.
