Manufacturing in a seven-state region including Oklahoma showed growth in November, and producers surveyed said they are more optimistic than any time this year about the next few months.

The monthly Federal Reserve 10th District manufacturing survey reported increases in production from October and September.

"This report was pretty good," said Chad Wilkerson, an economist and branch executive of the Oklahoma City office of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City.

After three straight months of increases in future inventory indexes, companies are finally seeing some improvement, Wilkerson said.

Activity this month was up at nondurable goods plants and came in flat for durable goods plants.

New orders for exports and order backlogs remained unchanged from last month, when export orders had increased.

Indexes also up for the month were shipments, price indexes for raw materials and finished goods.

The employment index reached its highest level in more than a year, although it was still just slightly positive.

The survey also includes Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, Wyoming, northern New Mexico and western Missouri.

More good news of Democratic President Obama's economic turn around policies taking effect after the collapse brought on by the Republicans and the Bush/Cheney past.
