Articles relating to cars, trucks, SUV's & general automotive issues and reviews. These articles are updated weekly and are archived here.
2008 BMW 1 Series is one cool coupe
2/15/2008
Building performance on a budget isn’t exactly a BMW trait. The company’s current focus is creating vehicles that combine luxury and power with price tags that, unfortunately, remain out of range for most buyers.
2008 Audi TT is exhilarating performer
2/8/2008
Whether a stylish two-seat roadster or a hunkered-down fourpassenger coupe, the 2008 Audi TT has plenty of character and provides more than enough exhilaration to keep you coming back for more.
2008 Chevrolet Corvette is stunning
2/1/2008
Call it an automotive icon, call it a legend, call it awe inspiring. The Chevrolet Corvette is all three and more, especially now that the ’08 version features drivetrain and interior upgrades to make its steal-of- a-deal base price look like its missing a digit.
2008 Jeep Liberty is rough and tough
1/25/2008
Change is vital in the car biz, but Jeep refrained from going overboard when making over the Liberty for 2008.
2008 Ford Focus makes bold statement
1/18/2008
When you’re hot, you’re hot. But Ford would be the first to admit that not all its recent product makeovers have lit the fire for prospective buyers.
2008 Nissan Pathfinder is better than ever
1/11/2008
As kids, we were taught to play nice and to share with others. That point is literally being driven home with respect to the 2008 Nissan Pathfinder, which has been bestowed with a power upgrade via its more muscular family members.
2008 Volvo XC70 is one luxurious wagon
1/4/2008
Creating a rugged wagon that actually looks rugged and stylish at the same time might seem like a challenge, but Volvo has managed to fit it all into one neat and tidy package with the all-new and decidedly unique XC70.
2008 Honda Accord offers “wow” factor
12/28/2007
Honda’s way has always been to produce low-key cars that speak to buyers in terms of value and performance while not necessarily wowing them in the looks department.
2008 Toyota Highlander is stylish SUV
12/21/2007
The good news for fans of roomy, practical transportation is that a new Highlander is arriving. The really great news is that it’s available in a more appealing wrapper and sings a sweeter song under the hood.
Chevrolet Equinox Sport is a solid performer
12/14/2007
Since 2005, the five-passenger Equinox has been one of those value-laden workhorses that clearly identifies with anyone needing to cart adults, children, pets and all their assorted belongings in relative comfort.
2008 Grand Cherokee Diesel is a keeper
12/7/2007
A common perception about diesel engines is that they’re noisy, slow and smell bad. Don’t tell Jeep’s 3.0-liter turbo diesel that ... it’s busy rewriting the book on what we’ve come to believe about diesel power.
2008 Scion XD and XB is double the fun
11/30/2007
Scion vehicles have always offered big value at the smallest possible price. For 2008, Toyota’s junior subsidiary now includes a completely redesigned xB along with the inaugural issue of the xD, which replaces the xA. In both cases, the look is certainly new but the premise remains the same.
2008 Subaru Tribeca is stylishly unique
11/23/2007
As sport-utility vehicles go, the original B9 Tribeca arrived for the 2006 model year with plenty of redeeming qualities.
2008 Super Buicks are bigger and better
11/16/2007
More than 50 years ago, the last word on Buick performance and up-level content was the Super. For 2008, Buick is reviving the brand and anointing it with an appropriate level of flash and dash.
2008 Ford Focus makes bold statement
11/9/2007
When you’re hot, you’re hot. But Ford would be the first to admit that not all its recent product makeovers have lit the fire for prospective buyers.
2008 BMW 1 Series is one cool coupe
11/2/2007
Building performance on a budget isn’t exactly a BMW trait.
The Infiniti G37 is spirited and classy
10/26/2007
The new Infinitimodel defines what a luxury-oriented touring car should be about, but that’s not to say the outgoing G35 two-door, which arrived in mid-2002, was lacking in some way. In fact, Nissan’s premium division avoided straying from that gorgeous original design when it came to the G37. A bit of tinkering and tweaking to the nose and tail and that seems to be it, at least, as far as the eye can tell.
2008 Audi TT is exhilarating performer
10/12/2007
Whether a stylish two-seat roadster or a hunkered-down fourpassenger coupe, the 2008 Audi TT has plenty of character and provides more than enough exhilaration to keep you coming back for more.

Chrysler minivans remain dominant player
7/20/2007
Minivan popularity has waned, but this most useful and practical mode of transportation is far from dead. The fifth-generation Town & Country and Dodge Grand Caravan drive home that point.
Saab 9-3 SportCombi is a special wagon
7/13/2007
As a vital member of Saab’s mid-size 9-3 series that also includes sedan and convertible body styles, this conservativelooking hauler has been anointed with one of the coolest vehicle names in recent history, even if, at first glance, its exact meaning seems a bit unclear.
Sebring convertible is not just for summer
7/6/2007
Over the years, the Sebring convertible has been a popular choice for sun worshippers and particularly with sun-destination rental fleets. But with the arrival of an all-new model, buyers can now choose from three roof styles including a new retractablehardtop version.
2008 Volvo C30 is a hip and trendy wagon
6/29/2007
Set for release in a few months, the Swedish-built C30 is a niche vehicle with a planned first-year worldwide production of just 65,000, of which only 15,000 or so will make it to North America. And with a projected base price tag of around $23,000, demand for this hot hatch could easily outstrip supply.
