Skiatook High School announces Valedictorian and Salutatorian

The Valedictorian and Salutatorian have been announced for the 2015-2016 school year. Valedictorian and Salutatorian are based on seven semesters of grade point averages computed to the nearest thousandth using grades earned in all academic subjects taken during high school.

Cooper takes plea deal for first degree burglary

Jenny Lynd Cooper of Skiatook took a plea deal in Tulsa County January 27 for first degree burglary.

Sperry basketball has win, loss against Chelsea

A great night of basketball was in store for the Sperry Pirates and Chelsea Dragons on Feb. 2. Though both sides emerged with a loss after the games were finished, no one can say that the games were uninteresting.

Matthew Stevenson Matthew David Ahwe Stevenson, 20, of Skiatook, Oklahoma passed away on January 27, 2016. He was born in Claremore, Oklahoma on April 21, 1995 to Derrick and Penny (Boulware) Stevenson. He worked as a tree Trimmer for Jakes Tree Service. Matthew is survived by his parents Derrick Stevenson and Penny Boulware, a son Henry Robinson, a sister Cassaundra Stevenson, a brother Austyn Stevenson, paternal grandmother Pamela McCray, maternal grandparents Thomas William Boulware and Sherrill Ann Burke. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather Larry McCray. Private family services will be held at a later date. Cremation services were under the direction of Peters-Stumpff Funeral Home.

Destruction of records notice

All special education/confidential files and health records for students from Sperry Public Schools with an expected graduation date of 2011 or earlier will be destroyed the last week of May, 2016. The destruction of these records is consistent with the regulations set forth in the State of Oklahoma’s Records Retention/Disposition Schedule. Any former special education student from Sperry Public Schools who does not want his or her special education/confidential records destroyed is to contact the Sperry Public School Special Education Office at 918-288-7312 ext. 145 prior to May 27, 2016. These records may be necessary for future Social Security benefits or other purposes. The destruction of confidential files does not include files of regular education records.
