Trash Service in Tulsa

Overview:
NeWSolutions was awarded the contract and monthly rates for once a week curbside service in 2012. Service costs are $15.52 a month, and collections began Oct. 1, 2012. NeWSolutions was created by a third of the haulers from Tulsa Refuse Inc., the consortium that has conducted the city's trash service for the past 32 years.

Since then, there’s been controversy and complaints over greenwaste and recycling collection. The city charged 50 cents a bag for greenwaste pickup, and customers believed that waste was being mulched. Instead, it was being burned and the city suspended the 50 cent charge for green waste tags.

The city also has been burning some items customers believed were being recycled.
