Bartlesville

Overview: About 45 minutes north of Tulsa, Bartlesville is a growing city and is the Washington County seat.

The town was built on the oil boom and has strong ties to its heritage. Phillips Petroleum Co. was founded in Bartlesville and the Frank Phillips Home is a museum that remains a destination in the city. Woolaroc, Phillips’ ranch estate in nearby Osage County, also is an Oklahoma tourism spot, as is the Price Tower Arts Center, the only Frank Lloyd Wright designed skyscraper.

The city’s 2012 population was 36,245, a 4-percent increase since the 2000 census.
