Owasso

Overview: Owasso is one of Oklahoma’s fastest growing cities and is the second-largest suburb in the Tulsa metro area.

The city on the northeast side of Tulsa was chartered in 1972, when the population was about 3,500. Forty years later, the city had more than 31,000 residents. In the last two years, the city’s population has grown nearly 10 percent.

Owasso also has had a growing business environment, including a Sam’s Club that is under construction near U.S. 169 and 96th Street North. It is scheduled to open in late October. Tulsa Technology Center also will open a new Owasso campus this fall.
