Letter writers: The press and members of the Legislature and Congress may be hearing a lot more from Tulsa County Democrats. The local Democrats are organizing a "letter-writing committee."

"All members of the Committee will write their own letters as they are moved to do so," an item in a recent newsletter states. "Coordinators will generate ideas for letters and ask members: 'Are you willing to write a letter today on this subject?' 'If not, are you willing to send a letter over your signature that one of the coordinators writes and e-mails to you, presuming you agree with the content?' "

Inhofe dove hunt: Texas Sen. John Cornyn will be the guest of honor for U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe's annual Oklahoma Dove Hunt at Quartz Mountain Lodge on Sept. 7-8.

Contact Karma Robinson at (405) 810-1819 or karma@jiminhofe.com for information.

Henryetta parade: The Tulsa County Democratic Party says U.S. Senate candidate Andrew Rice will walk with its contingent at the annual Henryetta Labor Day parade, a traditional campaign stop for Oklahoma politicians.
