The latest on this story:
UPDATED: Issac Hanson in surgery on Thursday
Wednesday night’s homecoming show for Tulsa pop act Hanson at Cain’s Ballroom has been indefinitely postponed, according to an email from Debbie Jones, regional manager for ticket outlet Gettix.net, which handles ticket sales for the venue.
Eldest Hanson bandmember, Isaac Hanson, was receiving treatment at an area hospital earlier today for an undetermined ailment, said Ken Philips, the band’s publicity manager.
“Tonight’s show is definitely cancelled,” he said in a phone call to the Tulsa World early Wednesday afternoon.
“There are no results yet” from tests, but Philips did say that Isaac Hanson was admitted to the hospital earlier today with severe shoulder and chest pain. “This could be serious, but nobody knows just yet,” he added. “We are hoping for the best.
“We will be making a public announcement with more details when we get them later this afternoon,” he said.
While the concert is off, there will be a show Wednesday night.
Hanson will offer a free, all-ages fan gathering and DVD screening at 6 p.m. at the Blank Slate, First Street and Elgin Avenue. In addition to viewing Hanson's latest DVD, two bands, Locksley and the Meerkats will play for those assembled.
Zac and Taylor Hanson took part in a one-mile
walk Wedneday afternoon from the front doors of Cain’s Ballroom, 423 North Main Street.
The walk -- designed to raise awareness of HIV/AIDS and poverty in Africa -- attracted thousands of Hanson fans downtown Wednesday.
Meanwhile, a new show date is pending, and no refunds will be offered at this time, according to Jones’ email.
It is unknown at this time if Isaac Hanson’s illness will force postponement of other shows on Hanson’s nation-wide “The Walk” tour.
Upcoming dates in October:
Oct 5 - Kansas City, Mo.
Oct 6 - St Louis
Oct 08 - Knoxville, Tenn.
Oct 10 - Richmond, Va.
Oct 11 - Charlotte, N.C.
Oct 12 - Louisville, Ky.
Oct 16 - Atlanta
Oct 17 - Savannah, Ga.
Oct 20 - St Petersburg, Fla.
Oct 21 - Orlando, Fla.
Oct 22 - Birmingham, Ala.
Oct 25 - New Orleans
Oct 26 - Houston
Oct 27 - Austin, Texas

They aren't promoting the river tax. Nice try to get your random political stab in, though. Okay, not really.

Obviously Kathy Taylor, illegal immigrants, and poor parenting are to blame.

Use the grant money from the Hurricane Katrina victims to pay for the river instead of our tax dollars! We will need all our money to install alarm systems to counter the crime that came with them.

This isn't about the freakin' river tax and nobody cares what you think about it anyway. It's about a concert I (and I know tons of others) were really looking forward to and now have to wait and see when they will reschedule it. Plus, the tickes were $33 and I'd pay way more to see them in concert again!! Get better Isaac!!

33 dollars for Hanson? What a joke. Maybe they got sick from guilt for charging 10 times what they are worth!!!!!

JW/ That is irony! haha.. I think it may be puberty related. His voice is cracking and he is sounding like a sheep. $33 is WAY to much. The same people that like Hanson are the same ones pulling for a New Kids On The Block Reunion Tour...

You people make me sick. Political agendas have NOTHING WHATSOEVER to do with this article or Hanson at ALL. Go out and DO SOME GOOD instead of constantly ragging on people and trying to push your agenda. Today Zac and Taylor Hanson, DESPITE the fact that their brother is sick, are leading people on a one-mile walk to raise awareness for AIDS and poverty in Africa. They are amazing people as well as phenomenal musicians, and people that are stuck in 1997 really need to get over themselves.

Who cares how much tickets were?! Other bands have charged $100's to play somewhere! Plus IT ISN"T UP TO HANSON!
And that is besides the fact, Isaac is ill and from certain rumors going around, it's from a blood clot that he has fought with before. Those are VERY dangerous!
We love Isaac and our prayers are with him! All his fans are hoping for him to get better soon! <3
