This story incorrectly reported the address of a rodeo scheduled for Saturday in Sand Springs. It will be held in River City Park, on River City Park Road south of Oklahoma 412 and just west of Oklahoma 97.

SAND SPRINGS -- An open rodeo is scheduled Saturday benefiting a local organization that helps disabled children and adults through therapeutic horseback riding.

The rodeo is set for 6 p.m. Saturday at the Sand Springs Rodeo Arena, located on River City Park Road north of Oklahoma 412 at the 177th West Avenue exit.

The American Therapeutic Riding Center, a nonprofit organization that provides riding therapy for the disabled, is hosting the rodeo.

"This rodeo is about more than wild bull rides and bucking broncos," said Vickie Burkett, founder and executive director of ATRC. "It's for and about special needs kids and helping them experience freedom despite their disabilities."

Events scheduled include bareback riding, calf roping, open bull riding and team roping.

Admission is $6 for adults, $4 for children ages 6 to 11 and free for children under 6.
