Ex is a ‘person of interest’ in missing woman case
MISSING
Angie Tucker:
The mother of two reported being raped by her ex-boyfriend.

A man described by police as a ‘‘person of interest’’ in the disappearance of a Tulsa woman was arrested on an allegation that he raped her about a month before she disappeared, records show.
Allen Shields was arrested Oct. 6 in the reported attack on Angie Tucker, 34, who has been missing since Nov. 3.
Police said they fear for her safety because of recent problems she had with Shields, whom she described in court records as her ex-boyfriend.
Shields posted bail the same day he was arrested, according to jail records.
Prosecutors later declined to file a rape charge based on insufficient evidence, authorities said.
Tucker filed a protective order against Shields on Oct. 8, indicating that he had raped her in her apartment, according to police and court records.
At a hearing Monday, Det. Eddie Majors went before the judge on Tucker’s behalf asking for an extension of the protective order ‘‘because she is missing, and foul play is expected,’’ he said.
The extension was granted, and another hearing was set for Dec. 27, court records show.
Tucker told police that she was sleeping about 5:15 a.m. Oct. 6 when she realized that Shields was inside her apartment, according to his arrest report. She told police that he raped her and then fled, the record states.
Shields was arrested about an hour later on complaints of first degree burglary and rape.
He posted bond later that day and was released from the Tulsa Jail shortly before 4 p.m. Oct. 6, Chief Deputy Tim Albin said.
First Assistant District Attorney Doug Drummond said there was not enough evidence to justify the filing of criminal charges, which were declined on Oct. 12.
‘‘She claimed he broke into her apartment and raped her, but neither investigating officer nor the nurse who examined her found any evidence to corroborate what she reported. Without more evidence, there simply was not enough there to file either charge,’’ Drummond said.
Drummond said Shields said they had consensual sex.
‘‘There was a reason the DA declined the rape charge: It was bogus,’’ said James Linger, an attorney representing Shields.
He described their relationship as a friendship, saying they have known each other for 11 to 12 years.
Police Sgt. Mike Huff confirmed that Shields remains a “person of interest” in Tucker’s disappearance and that investigators have met with Shields and his attorney this week.
Regarding the rape allegation, ‘‘an arrest was made, but a charge was not filed. It is significant enough that we can’t disregard it,’’ Huff said.
Linger said Shields does not know anything about Tucker’s disappearance.
‘‘He hopes she turns up,’’ Linger said.
Majors said investigators are looking at all possibilities and are checking all Crime Stoppers tips about the case.
Tucker is a dependable employee at the Oklahoma State University Medical Center in Tulsa, and it is not like her to miss work, Majors said. She has two children, ages 11 and 13, who are staying with family members.
Police were told that Tucker was last seen wearing a black shirt, a black jacket with the OSU Medical Center logo on it, and blue capri pants.
She is described as black, about 5 feet 6 inches tall and 155 pounds. She has brown eyes and burgundy hair.
Anyone with information about her disappearance is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 596-2677. Callers can be anonymous.

Ms. Angie wouldn't lie. Just because the ADA didn't want to proceed with the case does NOT mean that she was not raped. These cases can be hard to prove in court. She had absolutely nothing to gain by making a false accusation. Thank you Det Majors for representing her.

There was an unidentified body of a female black woman found in Arlington Texas around 11.28.07, There really aren't many details, but it's only about a 4 to 5 hour drive from Tulsa. Is there anyway this could be Angie????

Thank God that TW has published this story. We all have been wondering what TPD is doing about it. I hate to say it, but I went through the same thing with my ex husaband about 2 years ago. And it wasn't until he shot himself while high on some drug that Tpd decided to do something. And I still feel the omly reason they did something is because he terrified my kids ages 1 1/2 and 7 who was there at the time. So please all women in Tulsa make sure that if you are in this situation, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE make sure you let someone know, or else you might end up in the same situation as our beloved Angie!
