After spending a week preparing for cold rain instead of ice, I think I'll prepare for worst case scenario and just hibernate until spring.

I'm sorry you didn't follow the NWS and their forecast of ice for 6 days prior to the event. Maybe this will teach you the best place to get official weather information from.

Wow, you must not have much of a life if all you do is sit in front of your T.V. screen watching the weather channel. I bet you always have your umbrella handy and are ready to bolt to the bathroom on a moments notice during a tornado warning because you, justme, have been tracking the storm for days in advance. No inclement weather will ever catch you by surprise because you have the brains and smarts to be monitoring that Doppler tracking system day and night. If there's a chance of strong winds, your hair will not be fazed because you went out and bought extra super hold AquaNet the week before. You, intrepid Weather Channel viewer, are so much more superior than the rest of us because you don't go out if there's a CHANCE for ANYTHING. Hats off to you.
