Tulsa's Mohawk Water Treatment Plant has its power restored early Thursday morning.

"We're bringing it up slowly so that we don't have any water line breaks," Public Works Department Director Charles Hardt said. "That's the last thing we need."

The plant should be operating normally within several hours.

While the Mohawk plant was down, output was increased at the city's second plant, A.B. Jewell.

At no time was there a shortage or a water quality problem, Hardt said.

Well, I hate to admit it, but I was one who ran out and purchased extra water.

.

Thanks Public Works , et al, for getting it back up & quelling the water quality rumor.

The water plant should be on the top of there agenda to get on first. I am glad its back on. Way to go. the electric company is doing a great effort to get the power restored to everybody. And they deserve every penny they get in overtime pay and regular pay.

Special thanks to all who kept our water safe. I suffered 6 years after drinking bad water in 1984 and docs were pathetic with no help...just one test and one drug after another. Now I KNOW that water quality for drinking and bathing SHOULD be TOPS for every person who cares about their health. YOU ARE EACH A HERO In MY BOOK!!! THank you for all you do!!! xoxo
