Mayor thanks AEP-PSO workers
By Staff Reports
Published:

Last Modified: 12/19/2007 9:01 AM
Tulsa Mayor Kathy Taylor thanked AEP-PSO linemen and tree trimmers for their services at a breakfast Wednesday morning.
Taylor spoke at the fairgrounds to the out-of-state workers who have restored power and are returning home now that AEP-PSO is transitioning to service connections and does not require additional crews.
More than 2,400 line workers and 2,200 tree trimmers – most from other states -- worked to restore power to the Tulsa area after a Dec. 9 ice storm. Power is expected to be restored to 95 percent of the metro by noon Wednesday.

I certainly hope she remembered to also thank the multitude of out-of-state workers who came here to help out.

Thank you to all the hard workers (that's NOT you Kathy Taylor) I want to thank Kathy Taylor for building arenas and bars on a river of sewage. Also like to thank her for the wonderful roads that made me have to buy a 4x4 truck to get over the potholes. But as long as we get our extra 200 police officers like she promised...I guess it's worth the sacrifice.

And thank you to all the bitter Tulsans that have nothing better to do than whine anonymously on the internet.

Yes, thanks to ALL the worker's that have worked around the clock to get our power back on.... but especially the out of state workers. Also, thanks to the people that are hauling off the tree limbs, and the debris... I think God and PSO, every time I go through an intersection that has a WORKING traffic light... even if it turns red and I have to stop. :-) God Bless you all. Thanks for coming to Tulsa.

I want to thank all the workers that have responded to this disaster. I also want to thank our local firefighters, and other emergency workers. One thing I think the mayor should do is provide large generators at some of the older fire stations so that the firefighters can have heat and refrigeration. It is totally unacceptable that the firefighters have to come back from a fire, wet and chilled, to a station that has no heat.

Yes, thanks to all the workers from out of state. But lets be honest, the HUGE pay check WE will be giving them will be thanks enough!

If my husband were hundreds of miles away for over a week right before Christmas risking life and limb to help in an unfamiliar city, a huge paycheck would certainly not be foremost on my mind. Thank you to all the workers for their hard work!! Tulsa appreciates you!!

Put the blame where it belongs - on the shadow governments chemtrail weather manipulation and hegemonic mind control. Join the Ron Paul Revolution and fight for your constitutional liberty and against ice storms!!! Vote Ron Paul in 2008!!! He'l stop the ice storms!!!

Hey John - (post #5) - why don't you get a little bit of a grip on reality.
You're blaming Kathy Taylor for the condition of our streets that have been crumbling for 20 years? Or for Vision 2025, which was passed during the previous administration?
That makes TONS of sense...
Oh - and yes THANK YOU to the PSO/AEP workers!!!

Our power at the house returned last Friday; at my business yesterday. The crews were unfailingly helpful and polite and willing to answer the occasional question, and they got us going again.
THANKS TO ALL OF YOU!! in state and out. You're heroes and we are grateful.

I want to clear up a few things so there's no misunderstandings.I am a General Foreman over five line cleareance tree crews that work out of north Louisiana.I have been in the tree business for 16 years.
Myself and my men are a very proud group. We take pride in ourselves and what we do.This ice storm in Tulsa wasnt our first rodeo.I thank God that my men made it through safely and I pray for the ones who didnt.
Very rarely do we have power issues in our area. Our utility here spends alot of money year round to prevent tree caused outages.
Unless your in this business you have no idea what tree trimmers go through on a storm.Normally we have to sleep in our trucks. We freeze in the winter and fight misquitos in the summer.
Nobody really wants to go and work any storm.Simply because of the way we are treated. We do what we do because its our duty. The lines could not be rebuild without the tree trimmers. So( no.10)its not about the money. We make enough money without your storm to provide for our families.THANKS IS ENOUGH.

About #10's comment! My husband was there making it possible for all of you to be warm while he froze his butt off sleeping in his truck almost everynight. We didn't need your money.. He was just doing his job. It's people like you that is making your town look like a bunch of ungratful, selfish people. I would much rather had my husband at home instead of the money that you think is payment enough! All you had to do is say thank you.. and leave it at that!
