From Tuesday's Tulsa World: Police seek more clues about teenager's death

The Medical Examiner's Office has confirmed that human remains found in a wooded, rocky area of Creek County are those of a missing 13-year-old Tulsa girl.

Cori Baker had been presumed dead since she disappeared Nov. 9. Her sister's 19-year-old boyfriend, Marquis Bullock, has been charged with killing the girl after picking her up from school.

A skull and other remains were found Friday evening in the wooded terrain near the playing fields at Paintball Adventure Games Inc. The business is north of the Creek Turnpike near South 49th West Avenue.

Police are investigating reports that Bullock had been to the paintball facility shortly before Cori's death.

Dental records were used to confirm that the remains were Cori's, Medical Examiner's Office spokesman Randy Saffell said.

Cori's family members -- who have searched extensively for the girl -- were notified Monday that the remains were Cori's, Saffell said.

Tulsa police detectives, Creek County deputies and Medical Examiner's Office investigators searched for additional remains on Monday.

Creek County Sheriff's Capt. Mike O'Keefe said more remains as well as clothing were found during the search. The remains were scattered over a wide area.

Details about the clothing were not released, and investigators were trying to determine whether they were related to the case.

Large rocks jut from the hilly, wooded terrain, making the search difficult, Tulsa Police Sgt. Mike Huff said.

O'Keefe said the search would resume Tuesday morning with about 80 to 100 law enforcement officers and others with search-and-rescue training.

Authorities said it likely will be some time before Cori's cause of death can be determined.

Police say Bullock gave them conflicting statements, including saying that he and Cori went to the west bank of the Arkansas River, where Cori fell into the river and ''disappeared under the water,'' a detective testified at Bullock's preliminary hearing last week.

Police have searched west of the Arkansas River for Cori several times.

Last week, before the remains were found, a judge found that sufficient evidence existed to hold Bullock for trial on a first-degree murder charge

Please God, let us begin to televise the execution of these animals who prey on our kids. Or allow the family access to the sob. No more trials and appeals for child killers. What sort of government and society cannot protect it's most innocent and helpless citizens? ENOUGH IS ENOUGH, KILL THIS GUY NOW AND SORT IT OUT LATER.

I hope the paper will update us after the autopsy results are in as to
how she died. Surely it will prove that she was murdered by this monster.
I am so glad they found her . Many many prayers for the family.

Well, she certainly didn't "fall into the river", and she wasn't "hanging out" at the apartment he shared with the sister either. Or any of the other stories he's given police about her whereabouts.

Smells like murder to me.

I'm so glad the family can finally know what happened to their baby girl. I'd also like to know how much they paid to the "so called psychic" for his incorrect information.

#12, I think the psychic was free. Now they can finally execute that killer in jail. I'm tired of seeing his sorry killers face on T.V.

If you pay close attention, the remain of Cori was discovered by a patron of this sport event. It has nothing to do with the police or detective. Hope they do a better job of procecuting and convicted the person who is responsible for Cori's death to a maximum.

The bible instructs an "eye for an eye". In my humble opinion that means if Marquis Bullock is guilty of MURDER therefore he should DIE for it. Granted #5 is a weak minded ACLU reject, so Capital punishment is cruel and unusual punishment. Well the CHAIR might be. But 10 men of which 9 are firing blanks. Is both economical and quick. OK go back to the firing squad and be done with him and any others on DEATH ROW.

PM, (#11) it kind of proves JJ's point. I remember the story distinctly and wondered the same thing about the race issue. Angela disappeared about the same time and there definately wasn't the media blitz that the Baker family received. It is very sad and my prayers have been with both family's.

we have watched this story unfold.. and PRAISE THE LORD that some kid decided to not 'follow the rules' and go where he wasn't suppose to while playing paintball..EVERYTHING HAPPENS FOR A REASON!!! If he hadn't of gotten off the path of the game, would she ever of been found? ...considering the owner states that where she was found was "not part of the course of the game." Could not imagine being that child that found her, however, knowing that he HELPED this MONSTER from NOT going free.. has be somewhat liberating... praying for all involved. God is good!

Prayers and Wishes to all those who have lost children. I know that knowing must be hard for the family, but it can't be as bad as not knowing. May they, and she, find rest.

GEL,
If you start assuming that any type of execution is unconstitutional then you've already been fooled by the ACLU morons. The 8th Amendment says, "Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted."

Notice it says cruel and unusual... that would actually mean you can have a cruel punishement or you could have an unusual punishment... you just couldn't have both. Since being executing is not unusual it happens all the time and has for centuries the fact is any punishment that is intended to kill the guilty isn't unusual.... it may be cruel but so what the Constitution just doesn't allow us to be cruel and unusual...

Frankly, if you believe in the Constitution and equal treatment under the law, retarded killers should be killed just like the average killer... after all its un-equal treatment to hold one group out as special... same goes for crazy people... we need to get back to basics. Murder someone and you should die... plain and simple.....

GEL (#15) -- where in the Bible does it INSTRUCT "an eye for an eye"? That is a quotation from a story in Exodus -- not an instruction like... oh... I don't know... "thou shalt not kill"? It's not "thou shalt not kill... except in the case of revenge."

This whole thing is a terrible tragedy and my prayers are with the family.

I just find the predictible "hang 'em high" attitude of some "Christians" deplorable, given Christ's stance on capital punishment.

All people are created equal unless you are from north Tulsa. Also if you are from east Tulsa you are an illegal. But Bullock should hang over pitbulls with a steak tied to his feet. But what about the rest of her remains they only mention her skull and vertabrae.

#15, the Old testament says an "eye for an eye" the new testament says "turn the other cheek". Although every fiber of my being wants the person responsible to pay for what he did, please don't quote the Bible out of context. I'm so grateful that there can be a little closure for the family.

Matthew 5:38"You have heard that it was said, 'Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth.'[g] 39But I tell you, Do not resist an evil person. If someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also. 40And if someone wants to sue you and take your tunic, let him have your cloak as well. 41If someone forces you to go one mile, go with him two miles. 42Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you.

Angela's disappearence probably has not been in the news as much as Cori Baker has is because the family is not waiting for the police to find her. They are out every weekend and putting search teams together and putting themselves in the media.

I am not saying the Angela's family hasn't been search for her also, but maybe they have not got the media involved. I really don't think it has anything to do with race.
