Cherokees to assist CDIB card applicants

The Cherokee Nation will offer assistance this spring with applications for Certificate Degree of Indian Blood cards and citizenship in the tribe.

Tribal representatives will be at several field sites throughout the tribe's 14-county area.

  • Craig County: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 18 at Tom Buffington Heights in Vinita, 900 W. McNelis Ave., No. 31-B.
  • Delaware County: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 7, May 5 and June 2 at the Sam Hider Community Clinic in Jay, 1015 Washbourne St.
  • Rogers County: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 23, May 28 and June 25 at the Claremore Indian Health Services Hospital, near Moore Avenue and Will Rogers Boulevard.

  • Sequoyah County: 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. April 11, May 9 and June 13 at the Sallisaw Sub-Office, 110 N. Elm St.
  • Tulsa County: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 11 at the Cherokee Nation Tag Office in Collinsville, 105 E. Main St.

To obtain a CDIB card, applicants must apply formally and provide acceptable legal documents that connect them to an ancestor who is listed with a roll number and a blood degree from the final rolls of citizens of the Cherokee Nation.
