Tahlequah coach to be arraigned on rape charges
By Associated Press

TAHLEQUAH -- A Tahlequah High School teacher and coach is expected to be arraigned today on second-degree rape charges.
Christopher Massey, 27, was charged Thursday morning with the felony offense. He is expected to turn himself in today, and a hearing date will be set.
Massey allegedly committed the offense Feb. 21, 2007, while he was employed by the Tahlequah I-35 School District.
Prosecutors say he had sexual intercourse with a 17-year-old student enrolled in the local school system.
Tahlequah police investigated the incident and gave a report to the district attorneyµs office. The girl told TPD Detective Lt. Dale Glory she had sexual intercourse with Massey on three occasions.
Second-degree rape is punishable by imprisonment for one to 15 years. Glory and TPD Detective Jeff Haney are listed as state witnesses, along with the girl, TPS Superintendent Paul Hurst and Denver Spears. Assistant District Attorney Greg Combs is prosecuting the case.
Massey is the second TPS employee in a month to be charged with second-degree rape after an alleged sexual encounter with a female student.
Jermell Montrice Combs, also 27, is charged with second-degree rape after initially being charged with first-degree rape for having sex with a 16-year-old girl. That girl said she reported the incident because she feared she may have become pregnant. The first-degree rape count was amended last week to second-degree rape.
Combs faces a May 5 court appearance.

disgusting. but i guess it doesn't surprise me. some men just can't keep to themselves. some of these coaches are a little too chummy especially when it comes to the players. one too many pats on the backside.....

It is the same Chris Massey who played at OSU. Checked it out. Sad thing is he apparently has a wife and young son. I'm a local HS coach and I hate to see this happen to both parties. The fact is that even if "she came on to him," he is a grown man and has no business putting himself in a situation with an underage girl. Especially if he is married! If the allegations are true, he will likely lose everything. His career, family, possibly his freedom, and beyond. The girl involved may end up having who knows what kind of problems as a result. Doubt if this will end up anything but badly for everyone involved.

I think Robin Williams said "God gave man a brain and a penis, but only enough blood to run one at a time." any one of us, under the same circumstances, could be in the same trouble. The only way to address this, is to get more moms involved. The other thing, is to add an addendum to their contracts, stating that they understand that "misconduct' will cause them to lose their marriages, their property, their jobs, and possibly their freedom, and that she or he will always tell, or hold it over your head for the rest of your life.

Yes, it's is the Chris Massey that played at OSU. And yes he actually has TWO young sons. His beautiful wife Hannah is a teacher also, and she was a gifted athlete for Tahlequah a few years back. This has shamed and embarrased her. I feel more sorry for her than I do this girl that was "rapped" three times. NOT! You are raped ONCE, then report it. You don't go back a second and third time. Sorry! I am a coaches wife and girls at 17 & a half know WAY more than we did in high school. They expose themselves by wearing next to no clothes, flirt with male coaches & teachers, and I attribute this to the moral decay of society. I am in NO WAY saying what HE did was right. Its wrong. Very wrong, but this was a consentual extramarital affair. Teacher shsoul;d NEVER fraternize with students, Chris knew better, the consenting 17 year old girl knew better. My heart goes out to Hannah.

I'm like the coaches wife, that young was not raped. She probaby was angry with Massey and to get even she told TPD that she was raped. NO WAY. I'm not saying Massey didn't do anything wrong. The young lady needs to give account also.

No the girl was obviously not raped after three times, but Chris made a concious decision to have sex with a 17 year old student, regardless of the fact that he had a beautiful wife and two beautiful energetic boys at home he did what he did! You would think that someone who had it 'all' would have enough sense to not throw it all away! I guess not everyone has their priorities right...too bad for Chris! His wife Hannah was and still is an amazing athlete, as she just finish the OKC Marathon. Hannah is a wonderful mother and friend, my heart goes out to her and boys!

I read the above and i think, are any of you really concerned for him? I mean he has not been convicted of anything thus far. Why call your
selves friend or pretend to know him if you'll ridicule him on the internet and not support him. This man plead not guilty, perhaps he is innocent. Several think she's mad and trying to get BACK at him, well maybe she's just trying to get him. Like out to get him, maybe she's tried and he's refused, maybe there are circumstances we don't all know and as friends and people who once loved this man, you easily turned your back on him. I just want to say, You guys are a real piece of work out there. All of you.
