Gov. Henry endorses Obama

COMMITTED
Brad Henry: He becomes the third Oklahoma "superdelegate" to pledge for Obama.

From Wayne Greene's Blog: "What do you think? Should Brad Henry and the other superdelegates be bound by honor, if not party rule, to vote the way Oklahoma voters did?"

OKLAHOMA CITY -- Gov. Brad Henry on Tuesday said he intends to cast his lot -- and his Democratic National Convention vote -- with Illinois senator Barack Obama.

"I believe Senator Obama is uniquely positioned to unite our nation and move beyond the divisiveness and partisan skirmishes that too often characterize politics as usual in Washington," Henry said in a prepared statement issued through the Obama campaign.

Henry thus became the third Oklahoma "superdelegate" and the second in a week to pledge for Obama. In doing so, he went against the results of the Feb. 5 state Democratic primary in which Sen. Hillary Clinton won 54 percent of the vote to 31 percent for Obama.

"Senator Obama understands that the serious concerns facing average Americans must transcend partisan games if we are to rise to the challenges of today and tomorrow," Henry said.

Obama said he appreciated Henry's ability to work with both Republicans and Democrats.

"Gov. Henry . . . has achieved real results by reaching across the aisle to tackle the state's big challenges," Obama
said.

Thirty-eight of Oklahoma's national convention delegates were allocated according to the results of the state primary. Twenty-four went to Clinton and 14 to Obama under the party's proportional allocation system.

The delegates themselves were elected during the state convention in late February.

"Superdelegates" earn their spots by serving in high public office or through party service and are unpledged.

Superdelegates have had little impact on previous conventions because the party's nominee has won the nomination through the state primaries and conventions. This year, however, it appears unlikely either Obama or Clinton can win without support from a substantial number of superdelegates.

Henry follows Edmond attorney Reggie Whitten and state party vice-chairwoman Kitti Asberry in committing to Obama.

One superdelegate, national committeewoman Betty McElderry of Purcell, is pledged to Clinton.

The remaining six are uncommitted.

So Henry's true liberal agenda comes to light. His veto of anti-abortion bills makes more sense now.

There is a change coming......get ready...Oh, about Gov. Henry and abortion bills...Roe vs Wade prohibites any state from creating a law keeping women from the right to have an abortion anyway.

I can see someone with severely limited brain power like our 'Invisible' Governor endorsing Obama. What I still don't understand is an intelligent man like David Boren endorsing a radical like Barack. Anyone who wants to back Obama should 'vett' him thoroughly, easy to do on the net. It is scary.

Oh, about Roe v Wade and the "right" to an abortion:

Life is a right, abortion is a technological privilege that takes away a right.

Roe v Wade violates the Constitution in at least four ways, 1. The right to life, liberty, and property, 2. Separation of Powers, 3. Checks and Balances, 4. Equal Protection.

You are right, it has been disproved that he is a secret Muslim. The rest is pretty much true, not because it is on the internet, but because it is called The Democratic Party Platform.

Henry is such a do nothing. What a shame we didn't get Steve Largent when we had the chance. I'm so sick of seeing Henry's corn fed face.

Henry is only endorsing Obmama because he knows that if Obama is the democratic nominee, McCain will win the Presidency.

We do need a governor who supports the United States, at least. This governor is obviously kowtowing to whichever way the wind is blowing, without regard to principles.

Obama openly supports immorality, the terrorist agenda, and the murder of unborn Americans, and Michelle Obama can't stand the United States. For all we know, she may have cheered when the World Trade Towers went down. This governor's career is politically over. Has he forgotten the Murrah Building? Obama has absolutely no economic program, no plans for building a great nation, nothig at all except "change." He actually said this: "This is a great country. We need to change it."

I think we as Oklahomans who did vote For Hillary need to let our Governor know that we do not support his decision. We need to ask him to consider changing his mind. If Barrack Obama wins the nomination I will vote for John McCain. We cannot afford to make a mistake again.

The people of Oklahoma spoke and we voted for Hillary Clinton. Our votes must be heard. Obama cannot and will not win the General Election. We need someone with proven experience, not someone who will just hope for change. We need someone who is ready on day one.

I'm so upset over this I'm setting up an organization to run ads to let everyone know about our governors intentions to not support the will of the people.

In case you want to write a letter, the Governors address is

Office of Governor Brad Henry
State Capitol Building
2300 N. Lincoln Blvd., Room 212
Oklahoma City, OK 73105

Please let your voice be heard. For someone who makes a comment about voters being Bitter such as Obama made, Governor Henry needs to throw his support behind Senator Clinton.

Big mistake! Obama cannot win the states he needs to win to take the general election. Hillary has won all the areas we need to win in order to take back the White House. With that said, either of them would be better than McCain. McCain is just more of the same. He's about as bad as Bush on his policies and everyone knows this war has been a horrible failure. McCain knows nothing about economics and, let's face it, he's not a war hero. He was captured. He was weak! What's going to happen if he's president?

You can post on here all day long, but it does not matter until you send that letter to our governor. I think if he does not change his vote, we need to do a recall campaign. I am willing to go door to door and get the signatures. This is worse than Florida. How dare he try to silence the will of the Oklahoma Voters. I really wonder if we could raise enough money to let Oklahoma know about his decision and ask them to write him a letter.

So what. If Gov. Henry wants to support Osama then let him. Fortunately the majority of this state will vote for someone who at least will say the pledge of allegiance, wear an American flag on his/her lapel. And #22, Phil, have you ever been captured? How strong are you without ever being tested? I challenge you to say that in front of any veteran who has been tested and see how they react. If you are lucky you might keep your teeth.

WELL, WELL, WELL. I HAVE NEVER LIKED HENRY WITH HIS PUFFY BABY-FACED CHEEKS AND WHINING VOICE. HE COULD'NT LEAD A HORSE TO WATER. HIS ATTITUED IS "IF IT AIN'T BROKE DON'T FIX IT".

I WANT ALL YOU OBAMA LOVERS TO GET READY TO HEAR AND SEE MORE OF AL SHARPTON, JESSE JACKSON, TAVIS SMILEY, REV. WRIGHT, CORNELL WEST, LOUIS FARRAKAN AND THE REST OF THAT ILK , IF OBAMA GETS INTO OFFICE. YOU TALK ABOUT A THIRD WORLD COUNTRY AND A WELFARE STATE, YOU AIN'T SEEN NOTHING YET.

OBAMA DOES NOT HAVE THE CHARACTER OR ABILITY. HILLARY CLINTON IS A POWER HUNGRY PERSON WITH A HUSBAND THAT HAS BEEN IMPEACHED AND MCCAIN IS A TEMPERMENTAL PERSON THAT HAS SERVED TO LONG.

AS FOR ALL AMERICANS, GOD HAVE MERCY ON US ALL. SURELY, THESE THREE CANDIDATES ARE NOT THE BEST WE HAVE TO OFFER?
