OKLAHOMA CITY -- Detectives from Los Angeles are asking Oklahomans to help them find a man who is wanted for the murder of a teenager in California.

Investigators traveled to Kingfisher on Monday to look for Daniel Guerrero, 21, who is accused in the death of Ryan Dasalla. Their search in the town, located about 45 miles northwest of Oklahoma City, was unsuccessful.

"The person we found was not Guerrero," Detective David Carver told reporters.

Guerrero and his brother, Gabriel, mistook the 17-year-old Dasalla for the person who had beaten their younger brother, authorities said. Dasalla was shot in the head with a rifle in front of Gabrielino High School in San Gabriel, Calif., on April 27, 2005, Carver said.

Carver and his partner said law enforcement officers are offering $50,000 to anyone who can help find Daniel Guerrero.

The tipster wouldn't have to testify in court because the Los Angeles detectives already have a sufficient case against Guerrero, Carver said.

Guerrero's brother, Gabriel, already is in jail, but Daniel Guerrero has been traveling back and forth between California and Oklahoma, and is known to have stopped several times in Mexico, Carver said.

According to the "America's Most Wanted" television show, Daniel Guerrero is a member of the Varrio Nueva Estrada gang and goes by the nickname "Lil' Stomper."

Police consider him to be armed and dangerous.

Daniel Guerrero is described as a Hispanic male, standing about 5 feet, 11 inches tall and weighing about 280 pounds.

Anyone with information about Guerrero's whereabouts is asked to call the Oklahoma County sheriff's office at (405) 713-6262 or the Los Angeles County sheriff's office at (323) 890-5500.
