WASHINGTON -- U.S. Rep. Dan Boren, D-Okla., said Tuesday he will not endorse Barack Obama for president.

"I still remain very concerned about the (Obama) voting record being the most liberal of the United States Senate," said Boren, a superdelegate to this summer’s national Democratic convention in Denver.

He expressed support for what he described as a "centrist" agenda, adding his party’s presumptive nominee’s record does not reflect that approach.

"Having said that, I am voting for Democrats this year," Boren said.

"I think it is very important that we have a change of direction in this country because we cannot afford the policies of George Bush to keep moving."

He said the nation’s economy is in a terrible state with a housing crisis and record level gas prices, and the country has a foreign policy that is not well thought out.

Good for you Rep. Boren. I agree w/him that Sen. Obama is just about the most liberal Senator on record. It's time both parties started working together for the best interest of the country and not their respective parties.

" we cannot afford the policies of George Bush to keep moving"

'Centrist' Democrats like Dan Boren are exactly who enabled the mess George W Bush has made of our country. They rubber stamped all Bush's policies.

Voters can do themselves a favor and send each and every incumbent packing. They are all proven failures. Apparently, Dan Boren, by his refusal to support Obama, thinks Bush is doing a heck of a job. Shame on Dan Boren...

Extreme liberal? Heck yea bring it!!! We can see where the Extreme Neo conservatives’ got us. An economy in ruins, Unaffordable gas and food, A war for all the wrong lies that we were suppose to believe, Katrina fiasco, The outing of CIA operatives, Pardoning of convicted felons in the white house, Spying on Americans without court approval, Government sponsored torture, corporate bailouts, Mission Accomplished! The list go’s on and on. And I should be worried what his wife said? Or his preacher? How can it possibly get any worse?

How disappointing that Dan Boren will not endorse his party's nominee. And that after his father and our governor both endorsed Barack Obama. Senator Obama has had the tenacity to stand up to the Bush/Cheney regime, and he stands for average, everyday Americans-not wealthy corporate special interests. Senator Obama is changing the way things are done in the Democratic Party by not only refusing contributions from lobbyists and political action committees, but insisting all Democrats adhere to these same standards. This will return Washington to government BY THE PEOPLE AND FOR THE PEOPLE. I sincerely hope Mr. Boren reconsiders his position for the good of our nation.

I hope that those who supported the ELITE CONSERVATIVE REPUBLICANS who've been running this country into the ground for the past eight years will take an objective look at Obama rather than embrace knee-jerk right-wing talk radio talking points this election year. We (right and left!) need to elect someone who can lift the whole country out of this current morass rather than someone who wears a lapel pin.

Obama banned lobbyists from giving money to him and the Democratic party. McCain's right hand man, Charlie Black, is a mayor lobbyist for third-world dictators. You can't make this stuff up. Who's better for America? And, there are new allegations of McCain personally involved in:

"awarding an Air Force contract to "a French company" -- Airbus -- instead of "an American company," Boeing."

French! Don't republicans hate France for no reason? Run away!

If you look at Obama's voting record instead of blindly repeating "Oh no, he's THE MOST LIBRUL SENATOR EVER!!!, you will find a moderate. All of his policies are about bringing people together, and making life fair for the lowest paid worker as well as the millionaire. Get some facts, people. Obama is the real deal.

Last summer I attended a town meeting where Dan Boren was meeting his constituents. At the time, Congress had just passed the ridiculous FISA bill, then rushed out of town. My question for Boren was how much more of the Bill of Rights he considers to be negotiable. He was firm on the Second Amendment, but wishy-washy on everything else.

Boren is what we call a DINO - "Democrat in Name Only." When Congress was closely divided, I voted for Boren because I will vote for a DINO or even an old yellow dog before I would ever support a Republican. But I see that Boren has a primary opponent. and the opponent will have my vote in the primary this summer.

Here we go again, the ill-informed Democrats, my party, blaming the Republicans for high gas prices etc. Wake up! Our party, the Democrats, have control of congress. Since gaining control of the house, gas prices have shot through the roof. What action do we get from our elected leaders with the problems we are having? They point fingers of blame at Bush with absolutely no solutions of their own. Listening to them, one would think the President has complete control over everything. Why do we need to pay these clowns their exorbitant salaries when all we get in return is finger pointing? THEY NEVER HAVE A SOLUTION TO ANY PROBLEM.

As a Democrat in Rep. Boren's District, I fully support his decision. I will also follow his example in November. It's time to stop voting party line and vote for the man who will best serve this country.

Regret the cold water folks, but which president have you voted for that made the lasting changes you wanted? Don't fall for the left, right, red, blue, whatever puppet game. Conflict is a major device for herding people, as is fear, scarcity, popularity, tradition, media, etc. While you may vote some people in/out of office, the machine that got them there, and the machine that will receive them once they get there, keeps running as normal.

As for the Bill of Rights, according to our nation's history, you have no rights, just privileges. And those can be revoked "at will".

Not good news, but it's what's behind the curtain.

DEMOCRATS WILL RAISE YOUR TAXES!!!!!! Give me a break. When Obama is elected, he will repeal Bush's tax cuts for the rich. So, if you make over $100,000 a year, your taxes will go up a couple of percentage points. Just today McCain's web site highlighted a quote made by an anchor on CNBC who said:

"Obama wants to take that to 39 percent…We’re talking about people who make over $200,000. That’s not rich. So it’s actually going to impact more people than you may think."

Give me a break. Who is elitist and out of touch here? The anchor who makes millions a year for reading a teleprompter or the McCain campaign for promoting her blather? I'll go with both.

See how I back up my ideas with quotes and sources? Instead of just saying things out of nowhere, let's try to make more sense around here. Now you know, and knowing is half the battle!

Whats wrong with blindly following the party leadership. Look at John Sullivan. George Bush had a dog mat at the end of his bed with John Sullivans name on it. We need more leaders like John Sullivan who blindly follow the party leadership no matter where it takes us. When will this country learn its not the Republicans or the Democrats that are the problem. It is the generation running these parties. The great dissappointment generation is whats ruining this country. They are called Boomers because they have laid the Boom to the financial health and world standing of this country. Barak Obama represents the generations that came after this sorry group. He is the future. Move over you fat self centered unprincipalled Boomers and let the younger generation take over. Barak 08. Raise the retirement age to 70 on every one age 50 and over. That will solve the social security question. You knuckleheads dont have the money to retire anyway.

I will not endorse Dan Boren. That's the last straw for me.

McCain will continue Bush's policies. Like the secret stuff he's trying to pull in Iraq.

He wants 50 military bases, absolute control of Iraqi airspace, unrestrained freedom of movement and legal immunity for all American soldiers and contractors in Iraq....

The Iraqi people are very upset about this. Our people should be too. This man is tying our hands and forcing the next president to go along with his very bad plan. And making the world hate us more and more.

Of course, if McCain gets in, no problem . . . He'll follow faithfully in Bush's footsteps,

and down and down we go . . .

CHANGE!

YES WE CAN!

Boren's statement is contradictory, since he says he will vote demo in november, so it makes no difference if he openly supports Obama or not. I suspect that he is just preparing to face his own next opponent who, I hope, doesn't try to make us believe they have walked in my or anybody else's shoes.

you people are so gullible....look at B52's comments....
he is the only commenter here that has made any sense!
the economy, tied directly to congress & the senate.....the president has little to no effect on the economy, the laws passed in the house & senate, tie directly into the economy.
why dont you hold the true culprits responsible for our economic woes?
obama wants to raise the capital gains tax on the oil companies.
who do you think is paying that tax? me & you...we all now that big business ( which our country needs) doesnt pay taxes, we pay their taxes through the charges incurred while doing business.....make the oil companies pay more tax & watch the prices go even higher! mr obamas fix for everything is to raise taxes, want healthcare, raise taxes....he says that he will raise taxes on those making more than 100 k, why? what is fair about that guy paying a higher tax percentage thatn the guy making 50k?
mr. obama has alot of skeletons in his closet that havent come out yet. when they do watch out! there is more to this man that just his preacher & his realestate guy....this man is dirty & we will soon see his dirty laundry aired!

So,

Imgine my somewhat not totally unexpected dissapointment by my fellow Oklahomans, such as "his wife is extremely bothersome to me", "I wish there was another choice besides Obama."

Just say it people, if this Harvard educated man was named Smith and he was the color of driven snow, NONE of you would have a problem with him.

I cant beleive that you would rather have more of the same as the last 8 painful years, not only for our country but our military than try someone else with a different vision, how much more painful can no jobs, high gas prices, loss of military life, no relief in sight be?

Besides, my vote doesnt count anyway, this country is a republic not a true democracy, the electoral college can vote the way they want, even if the people clearly vote. That's what the need to get rid of.
Besides I wouldnt worry, if Obama somehow manages to become president, I am sure some crazy white dude will eliminate him all in the name of pureness....
