A Perry native and his dog won the ultimate doggy reality show competition — and $ 250,000 — in Los Angeles on Wednesday night.

Travis Brorsen and his boxer, Presley, took home the title of “Greatest American Dog” on the CBS reality show by the same name.

Brorsen, an actor in Los Angeles and an Oklahoma State University graduate, was considered the show’s underdog because he had no formal dog-training experience and Presley was the youngest competitor.

But Presley proved to be a quick learner, and judges praised the duo’s fun-loving, easy-going relationship through weeks of dog-obedience challenges and other canine skill competitions.

Brorsen said he was glad Presley proved that “the Greatest American Dog doesn’t have to be perfect.”
