A Tulsa woman was arrested Thursday on charges alleging that she was under the influence of drugs when she struck and killed a pedestrian while she was driving in September.

Shawna Renee Yahola, 30, was arrested on charges of first-degree manslaughter, driving without a driver's license and possessing no insurance verification form, according to Tulsa Jail records.

Yahola hit Richard Crowles, 53, with her car on March 12 when she veered off the road while he was walking on a sidewalk near Sixth Street and Lewis Avenue, according to police reports. Her car then struck a utility pole.

Crowles was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police records.

Prosecutors filed the charges against her Sept. 30.

Yahola was booked into the jail about 1 p.m. Thursday with bail set at $52,000.

I am glad they finally filed the charges (although it took them forever and a day), it's just sad that someone had to lose their life because of someone's stupidness!!!!

Its a shame so many of theses young pretty girls and women now days are getting as bad as some of theses young ugly boys and men. you just dont know who to trust or be around any more. so many just act and do such stupid things. it is like they are trying to destroy their own lives and take others along with them.
