Tulsa Elections: Read bios of candidates for mayor, City Council and city auditor and view a map of City Council districts.

Democratic mayoral candidate Tom Adelson will speak at the Tulsa Press Club’s Page One Luncheon Friday at noon.

Adelson, a state senator representing District 33, won the Democratic nomination in the Sept. 9 primary with 94 percent of the vote.

As a legislator, Adelson has led efforts to solve financial problems that threatened Oklahoma State University Medical Center in Tulsa and to establish an emergency residency program at the University of Oklahoma-Tulsa.

Adelson faces Republican nominee Dewey Bartlett Jr. and independent candidate Mark Perkins in the Nov. 10 general election.

Bartlett will speak at the Page One Luncheon at noon Oct. 16.

Bartlett, a local oil man and former city councilor, has offered himself as the more conservative alternative and as having a better temperament for the mayor’s office.

Perkins will speak at the Press Club at noon Oct. 23.

Perkins is a fourth-generation Tulsan. After receiving his law degree, he returned to his hometown and started his own law practice before joining another firm.

Perkins is campaigning on solution-driven politics and a Tulsa-centric approach that is not tainted by national agendas.
