Tulsa police arrested a man early Saturday morning for allegedly setting his girlfriend on fire.

Kenneth Kelly McCurley, 23, was booked into the Tulsa Jail about 6 a.m. Saturday on complaints of arson and assault with a deadly weapon, according to jail records.

McCurley allegedly threw a chemical on the woman’s body and then threw a cigarette on her to ignite a fire, according to an arrest report.

The woman, Nicole Partridge, received second- and third-degree burns on 80 percent her body. She was in critical condition Friday night, according to the report.

Partridge told a doctor before being sedated that the burns were not an accident, even though McCurley would say otherwise, according to the arrest report.

Partridge was outside a residence in the 3300 block of East Fourth Street when emergency officials responded to the scene about 2 p.m. Friday.

Officers said Friday that a meth lab may have been in the house, but that could not be confirmed.

McCurley had a warrant from Wagoner County relating to charges from 2006, including unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, obstructing an officer and forcible entry, according to court records.
