Man accused of locking teenager in pickup toolbox
He is charged with kidnapping and assault and battery.
CHARGED
Christopher Kyle Lewis:
He also is accused of holding a heated screwdriver against the girl's body. The victim told police that Lewis locked her in the toolbox so he could drink in the home where the pickup was parked, an affidavit states. She was freed when a friend dropped by the house and heard her calling for help.

WETUMKA — A Wetumka man is accused of locking a 16-year-old Weleetka girl in a toolbox for 16 hours and holding a heated screwdriver against her body.
Christopher Kyle Lewis, 23, was arrested and booked into the Hughes County Jail on Tuesday, a day after he was charged with kidnapping and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. His bail is set at $200,000.
The girl was in the toolbox from 10 p.m. July 28 until 2 p.m. July 29, a prosecutor said. High temperatures were in the mid-80s on July 29.
The toolbox was mounted in the bed of a pickup that was parked in the front yard of a home in Wetumka. The girl told police that Lewis gave her a glass of water once while during the ordeal, according to an arrest affidavit.

What in the hell is going on with these insane morons? I will be interested in getting more detail to explain why he chose to lock her in a tool box.

I agree there has to be more to this story then this. I am curious, as I am sure others are, why he locked her in a toolbox

He's either psychologically unbalanced or has no conscience whatsoever. Either way, I'm glad they got him and the girl is okay. And, I agree with Few Clothes, it will be interesting to find out further details.

I bet he abused and killed small animals as a child too. Since Wetumka and Weleetka are a stone's throw from each other, one would have to wonder. He sounds like the type that could easily become a serial killer, if he isn't already. She is fortunate it was not one of these 100degree days or she would have fried in there.

Thank the lord that her friend came by or she would probably be dead.

Other stories on this in the media report that this man had abused this girl previously and that there was a protection order filed by her family that he violated last August.
So yes, there is a lot more to this story.

A new Tulsa World article, "Mom fears what might have been," dated 8/6/09 notes that Christopher Lewis was a former boyfriend of the 16-year-old. Her family had forbidden her to see him, but apparently she broke the rules.

For those asking why he did it....under the picture it says:
"The victim told police that Lewis locked her in the toolbox so he could drink in the home where the pickup was parked"....
although that's not much of an excuse. I agree that there has to be more to this story.

I agree with you all and from the minute I started reading this story I wondered if there is any connection to the 2 murdered girls. They need to lean on this guy big time and start questioning him.
