Three people died and four others were injured Saturday in a Noble County crash caused by a blown tire, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.

Killed were Angel Rafael Chevez-Flores, 39, and Celia Cruz-Chevez, 19, both of Perry, Iowa; and Gladys Cruz-Gonzalez, 37, whose hometown was not listed on an OHP report.

Troopers said Flores was driving a 2002 Ford Explorer on Interstate 35 about 10 miles north of Perry at 12:53 p.m. when the tread came off the passenger-side rear tire. The vehicle ran off the road and rolled multiple times in the median, according to OHP reports.

Miguel Angel Cruz-Martinez, 33; Luis Felipe Lopez-Cabrera, 24; Roger Cruz, 17; and Jordy Cruz-Chevez, 10, all of Perry, Iowa, were injured in the crash and taken to a nearby hospital.

The OHP accident report indicates that everyone except Flores was ejected from the vehicle.

Troopers said seatbelts were in use only by Flores and Martinez. Air bags were equipped but did not deploy.
