1964

President Lyndon Johnson was running late to dedicate the huge Eufaula Dam, so Gov. Henry Bellmon started without him. "I'm not exactly sure how you welcome a president in his absence but when he gets here, we'll do it proper so he knows that we are honored to have him here," Bellmon said.

1978

A Pacific Southwest Airlines Boeing 727 and a rented Cessna 172 flown by a student pilot collided over San Diego, killing 144 in what at that time was America's worst air disaster. Ten persons on the ground were killed by falling bodies and debris.

2003

France reported a staggering death toll of 14,802 from a heat wave that scorched Europe during August. France was by far the hardest hit in one of the deadliest hot-weather disasters in a century; it killed more than 19,000.

2007

Warren Jeffs, 51, the leader of a polygamous Mormon splinter group, was convicted in St. George, Utah, of being an accomplice to rape for performing a wedding between a 19-year-old man and a 14-year-old girl. Prosecutors said Jeffs forced the girl into marriage and sex against her will. He was later sentenced to two consecutive terms of five years to life in prison. Jeffs, president of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, also has been indicted in Arizona and Texas.

Johnson was a no good backstabbing taitor. He knew that he would never be president by election so
He had Kennedy assasinated (by GW Bush and co in CIA). His family couldn't afford for Kennedy to stop the Viet Nam war. That would mean billions in revenue loss to Bell Helicopter. His wifes family held the purse strings @Bell Hellicopter.

Johnson was a big crook.
