A Tulsa State Fair ride operator was arrested Friday night on a complaint of public intoxication, deputies said Saturday.

Joshua Vigil, 32, had been operating the Starship 2000 ride about 6:30 p.m. when deputies were notified that he was cursing at children and smelled of alcohol, said Capt. John Bowman.

When deputies arrived, they determined Vigil had been drinking, Bowman said.

Vigil was also arrested for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to jail records, after deputies allegedly found marijuana and a marijuana pipe on him.
