Their truck was found abandoned with a dog in it.

RED OAK — A Eufaula family who were looking at land to buy in Latimer County have been missing for nearly two weeks.
Their truck was found Saturday in rural Latimer County near Red Oak, at least 30 miles from their home. A starving, small black-and-white dog was found in the truck by a deputy who went to investigate.
"It appeared it had been in the truck for a long time," Undersheriff Matt Bohn said Wednesday.
Law enforcement authorities and several volunteers began searching Saturday for Bobby and Sherrilynn Jamison and their daughter, Madyson, 6. Six dog teams joined the search Sunday, but nothing other than the truck was found, Bohn said.
The sheriff called off the immediate search Monday, but small groups of people familiar with the terrain continued with the effort.
Another full-scale search is planned for Friday, Bohn said.
Bobby and Sherrilynn Jamison are both 44 and both have brown hair. He is 6 feet 3 inches tall. She is 5 feet 7 inches tall. Madyson has blond hair.
Anyone with information regarding their whereabouts is asked to call the Latimer County Sheriff's Office at (918) 465-2161.

I hope there is a positive outcome for the family and the poor sweet dog left alone thinking he had been abandoned by his family and not understanding what was going on.

That's so sad to hear, I hope they find them.
I agree with katsmeyow that the little dog is so confused too, surprised it's still alive. The entire situation is bad. How could they be missing for two weeks and just now they are located?

I agree I hope there is a positive outcome, but it doesn't really sound realistic. Poor dog.

Has their disappearance been reported on the news before now? Have authorities been searching for them before the truck was found?
This has an eerie sensation, and I hope they are found.
That dog wouldn't have survived inside a truck for two weeks without water and food.
Have a vet examine the dog to determine the aproximate length of time the dog was in the vehicle, and then they'll know when this family lost contact with the dog and the vehicle.
Poor little dog. I hope the family is found safely.

I hate to say it but they may have stumbled into a marijuana farm and were, whatever, don't even want to think about what has happened to them.

They didn't say if the truck was broke down, out of gas, or whether they suspected foul play. Two weeks is a long time to be missing. I wonder why it took so long to get to the authorities. So many questions with little information. Is their other family in the area? Any problems with family or work? We need more info.

Bad situation- wonder why no one has heard this being reported news wise. Hadn't some one reported these people missing. Some one must have known they were missing. A family member, neighbor or a co-worker. Do hope and pray they are found. Maybe they had a reason to "dissapear"

Sounds like a very tragic event, but how can a whole family be missing for two weeks without anyone noticing?

Isn't it strange that Obama attending a parent teacher conference is more news worthy than this. They've been missing for weeks and up until now, it's not been reported?? So sad. I hope this has a good ending, but frankly, it doesn't look great.

I was noticing that it points out in the article that the parents both have BROWN hair but the little girl is BLONDE.
This is not intended to sound bad or be demeaning in any way to the family, as I am praying that they are found safe and sound soon. But, the obvious difference between parents and child makes you wonder if one of the parents is actually a STEP parent. If this IS possibly the case, where is the girl's second biological parent and where were they at time of disappearance? If there is another parent (the reason the girl is BLONDE, not brunette like the pictured parents), the second parent may very well be the reason for the disappearance. It happens all the time, sadly. Not necessarily to WHOLE families, but estranged parents kidnapping their children from the custodial parents.
Surely SOMEONE around that area has seen the family or someone stopped and picked them up.
Maybe if they would bother putting the story on CNN or some other National headline news, then they might get more info from viewers. Not everyone reads the newspapers, but MILLIONS of people watch the news every day.
Good luck to all working on this case. I pray they are found quickly...
And my thoughts and prayers are with their families for a quick (and safe) resolution...

OKi<3Ubuhbye, i kinda get where you're going with that but that isnt always the case, both of my parents have brown hair they had for children together 3 of us have red hair the fourth has blonde, so there is a pretty good chance that they both are the actual parents not the step, but im totally with you as to them puttin the story on national news and i still dont understand why we havent heard about this before now, if we had there would probably be a bigger search team and them possibly found by now but no one has heard about it or anything so if they were kidnapped or something they've had two weeks to get as far away from where the truck was found as possible...but im hoping and praying that this family is found safe and alive and i hope they find them real soon

OKi<3Ubuhbye, my parents had dark hair, they had a redhead, an almost black-haired child and 2 brunettes.
The local news is too busy reporting on Oktoberfest, some other festival or some football players latest hiccup or escapade to put something like this on there.

I am from Latimer County and we heard about it last week, but I didn't hear about it before the truck was found. Their truck was found last weekend, so the dog wasn't in there for 2 weeks.

Sorry to hear this about this sweet looking family here.Yes 2 weeks is a long time but we should all hope for the best for the turn out.Blessings to the family ones who are wondering about them to.I'm sure we will know more soon from the news crew or the police. My question would be was the truck broke down or would it run when they found it.

It is strange that we are just now hearing about it. But maybe there is a good reason why they weren't reported missing at first. I hope they are found safe, but I have my doubts. Poor little doggie, I bet it was scared and cold.
