Way back when: Today in history
Sen. John Glenn in 1998 as he prepares for a nine-day mission aboard the space shuttle Discovery.

1929
Stock market prices collapsed on a day that has become known as "Black Tuesday," marking the start of the worldwide Great Depression. Thousands of investors were wiped out. All trading records were broken, with a turnover of 16.4 million shares on the New York Stock Exchange and 7.09 million on the New York curb market. But the worst was yet to come. It took a decade for the U.S. to work out of the Great Depression.
1964
Thieves apparently using an ordinary glass cutter made off with the Star of India, the largest cut sapphire in the world, and 22 other gems from display cases in the American Museum of Natural History in New York. Most of the gems were later recovered.
1998
John Glenn, 77, the first American to orbit Earth, returned to space 36 years after his first flight to become the world's oldest space traveler. "Boy, enjoying the show," Glenn said as Discovery soared 340 miles over Hawaii on the nine-day mission.
2004
Osama bin Laden admitted for the first time that he had ordered the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. In a videotape message, he said the U.S. could avoid another attack if it would stop threatening Muslims.

I hate to be a party-poop but I think the worst has yet to come this time too. Call me crazy but I'm just calling it like I see it.

Please note: I use technical indicators such as: On Sunday, in Tulsa at the Woodland Hills Mall there were a fair amount of people but not too many were actually carrying packages. Mind you, Tulsa is outperforming the stock market but there are still way too many empty parking lot spaces, IMHO.

Somebody please stop me before I get going.

I remember hearing a well-seasoned trader say something like: "Bush will burn down the house before he admits that there's there's a fire in the kitchen."
Well, sometimes, even when a fire appears to be out it starts up again - much to the surprise of whomever.

And then there's this one: Picture this.... stock market is up & everything is for sale at higher prices but there are fewer & fewer people buying - as in VOLUME of shares purchased. So when should I buy, when everybody wants to sell at a high price? Na, I think I'll wait until some third world country or even more likely, Israel decides to use a nuke. Then you will see a retest of the stock market bottom; that's for dang sure.

Finally, I'm done. And again, I'm sorry....just calling it like I see it.

LOL (at myself) one more thing... Raytheon is making as many Patriot missles as they can and as fast as they can. Now why would they be doing that?
Peace Out

Shucks, I forgot that Obama got a Nobel Peace Prize. Forget everything I said.
