Annual Bedlam Food Drive runs through November

It's time again for Sooners and Cowboys fans to show their team spirit with the fourth-annual Bedlam Food Drive.

Fans can vote for their favorite team by donating cans of nonperishable food through November at any Arvest Bank location in northeastern Oklahoma and on the campuses of the University of Oklahoma-Tulsa, Oklahoma State University-Tulsa and the OSU Center for Health Sciences.

Donations go to the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma, which is reporting a 40 percent increase in the need for food assistance. The most needed
items include tuna, peanut butter, juice, pasta sauce, vegetables, soups and stew.

Last year, 13,680 pounds of food was raised, with OU edging out OSU by 450 pounds.

The food went to the food bank's 450 partner programs including emergency food pantries, after-school programs, senior centers, soup kitchens and shelters.

Bedlam food drive is a very good cause. Bedlam used to describe a football game is stupid.
