A man who was sought as a “person of interest” in connection with a fatal shooting and the injury of another man was questioned by police Friday and released pending further investigation.

Michael Eugene Jackson, 32, had been named a person of interest in the fatal shooting Jason Woodfaulk, 31, and the wounding of Joseph Love, whose age was not available.

They were shot about 4 p.m. Tuesday at 48th Street North and Yorktown Place, at a house across the street from Penn Elementary School, 2138 E. 48th St. North.

Cedric Jackson, 19, was arrested earlier this week on complaints of first-degree murder and shooting with an intent to kill. He had been released earlier this year from the L.E. Rader Center, a juvenile detention center in Sand Springs where Woodfaulk was a juvenile guidance specialist.

Cedric Jackson was acquainted with Woodfaulk while he was at the center, but there is no evidence that they had a conflict that led to the shooting, said Detective Jason White.

White has said police are investigating the shooting as drug-related.

Michael Jackson went to the Tulsa Police Department’s Detective Division about 2:45 p.m. to talk to police regarding the shooting. After interviewing him, police released him pending further investigation, White said.

It is unclear whether Michael Jackson and Cedric Jackson are related.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 596-COPS, send a text message to police or submit an online tip at tulsaworld.com/crimestoppers.

Callers can be anonymous, and the Crime Commission offers rewards for information that leads to arrests.
