A Tulsa woman was killed Thursday when the car in which she was a passenger rear-ended a vehicle that had slowed in rush-hour traffic.

Meanwhile, a Longtown man was killed Thursday morning when his motorcycle struck a deer that had wandered onto a Haskell County highway.

Dead are Rachelle L. Hudson, 30, and James Dodson, 67.

Hudson was pronounced dead at the scene of the Tulsa crash, which occurred just after 5:30 p.m. at Interstate 244 and Oklahoma 11, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

She was a passenger in a 1990 Nissan Maxima driven by Heath M. Hendrickson, 28, who was taken by ambulance to St. John Medical Center. He was treated for minor injuries and released, the OHP reported.

The other vehicle, a 2001 Dodge pickup, was driven by Craig Boatman, 40, of Broken Arrow, who was treated for minor injuries at the scene.

Neither Hudson nor Hendrickson was wearing a seat belt, but Boatman was, troopers said.

In Haskell County, Dodson was driving a 2005 Harley-Davidson through dense fog on Oklahoma 2 when he hit the deer just before 6 a.m., the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.

Troopers said Dodson was headed south on the two-lane highway southeast of Quinton and died at the scene from internal injuries.

He was wearing a helmet, the OHP reported.

Oklahoma needs a longer gun hunt deer season, What is it now about six folks killed after running into deer just this year? And to Cross bow hunt for everyone, with a hunting license.

My friend was driving west of 151st the other evening just around dusk and a huge buck just about crossed the road in front of her. If he would have tried crossing no telling how many cars would have been involved in the accident. She had one run into the side of her car last year. The buck walked off and she drove away with only a dent in the rear passenger door.
