HURON, S.D. — A woman on Tulsa's most-wanted list has been arrested by police in South Dakota, accused of forgery, false impersonation, possession of a controlled substance by deception and doctor shopping.

Authorities said all the complaints against Jerri Lynn Goff, 30, of Tulsa, are felonies.

According to the Tulsa Police Department's Most Wanted site, Goff has a felony warrant for two counts of failure to appear on charges of obtaining a control drug by forged or altered prescription.

She also has a misdemeanor warrant for failure to appear on three counts of bogus checks, according to police.

There's also a warrant for Goff's arrest in Carroll County, Ark.

Prosecutors said Thursday Goff will be extradited to Oklahoma.

Authorities said she was traveling with a 2-year-old girl who was listed as an endangered missing person. The girl is to be returned to her father, Goff's ex-husband.

Officials said Goff used various names.

My question is this: Why was she on the run in the first place ? Is her ex-husband such a great guy afterall ? Maybe that child is not in such good hands now ? She needs to be held accountable for the crimes she's committed but I'm wondering if there are extenuating circumstances.

Doctor shopping is done when a patient's addiction to, or reliance on, certain prescription drugs is involved. They go from doctor to doctor sometimes with multiple names to get prescriptions and or free samples that doctors give out.

Just because someone is an ex-husband does not mean they are bad fathers. That would mean an ex-wife would be a bad mother.

I think if you review that stats, most women are in Oklahoma prisons for the same reasons as stated here.

They grow up, get married, have a child, get divorced and now no income. Bogus checks begin, drugs, etc...

Goodness, she has been a busy woman. :)

Actually Ric, it is more like they grow up, get pregnant, have a child or 2 or 3 (not married), no income so they get welfare, food stamps, etc., and for their side business bogus checks, drugs, etc.

Mar,

Don't forget dropping out of school, with no trade or training of any kind.

It's cycle that will continue to happen until society steps and condems child birth outside of marriage as once practice.

Thunder196, just raising the question and not giving the father or the mother the benefit of the doubt; we don't know the whole story. But we've all heard or seen this happen before so it's not out of the question.
