Afghanistan: As of Wednesday, at least 841 members of the U.S. military had died in Afghanistan, Pakistan and Uzbekistan as a result of the U.S. invasion of Afghanistan in late 2001, according to the Defense Department.

The latest death reported by the military:

  • A U.S. service member was killed Tuesday in a roadside bombing in southern Afghanistan.


The latest identification:

  • Army Sgt. Benjamin W. Sherman, 21, Plymouth, Mass.; died Nov. 4 in Bala Murghab, Afghanistan, during a resupply mission; assigned to the 1st Battalion, 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, N.C.


Iraq: As of Wednesday, at least 4,363 members of the U.S. military had died in the Iraq war since it began in March 2003.

No new deaths were reported.

The latest identification reported by the military:

  • Army Staff Sgt. Ryan L. Zorn, 35, Upton, Wyo.; died Monday in Tal Afar, Iraq, when a vehicle overturned; assigned to the 1st Battalion, 34th Armor Regiment, 1st Brigade, 1st Infantry Division, Fort Riley, Kan.

America does have the machinery to win the battles in Afghanistan, But does Obama have the Guts.
