City workers are attempting to repair a large waterline break along 41st Street between Yale Avenue and Sheridan Road.

A utility contractor in the area of 5400 East 41st Street fractured a 12-inch line about 1:15 p.m., city spokesman Bob Bledsoe said.

Bledsoe said that city officials are trying to determine how many customers were affected by the break.

The break caused a large flow of water in the area, Bledsoe said.

Since it was a utility contractor....ONG or PSO will now need to raise rates to cover the cost of paying back the city to fix this...Sad but true...

Having worked for a major utility contractor, I found it to be common practice to be charged for damage my crew caused. But I think Tulsa lets it slide. No wonder we are broke!

I thought by that headline that the mayor was out there herself doing the repair.

I think our "officials" should get out there and fix some of these things first hand. Would be more productive than a lot of things they do.
