Truck's passenger injured in drive-by on U.S. 169
A passenger in a tractor-trailer rig was injured Wednesday when a bullet that was fired into the cabin broke the glass on the driver's side window, police said.
The truck was northbound on U.S. 169 near 21st Street about 3 p.m. when a passenger in a green Jeep Cherokee fired into the truck, Tulsa Police Officer Leland Ashley said.
The bullet did not hit the driver or passenger, but it broke the window, shattering the glass. The shooter's vehicle left the scene, Capt. Walter Busby said.
Ashley said the truck's passenger, a 19-year-old man, was taken to St. John Medical Center, where he was treated and released.
The Jeep was last seen exiting the highway and heading east on 21st Street.
The occupants were described as two Hispanic males ages 17 to 20, Ashley said.

Man in house wounded by shot fired from outside
A man in a house was shot by someone outside Wednesday evening, police said.
The man, whose name had not been released Wednesday night but who police said is 28, was shot in the upper torso while in a house in the 1400 block of North Boston Place about 6:30 p.m., Sgt. Michael Brown said.
The man was taken to St. John Medical Center in critical condition, EMSA spokeswoman Tina Wells said.
Police believe that the bullet was fired at the house by someone outside, Brown said.
A child was in the house at the time of the shooting but was not injured, he said.
Information about the shooter was not available.

Ex-prison official charged with having sex with inmate
HOLDENVILLE — A former corrections officer has been charged with three felony counts of second-degree rape on allegations that she had sex with an inmate at a private prison.
A warrant for the arrest of Michelle Kalinich was issued Nov. 6, but she had not been taken into custody Wednesday, officials said.
It is against state law and considered rape for a corrections officer or jailer to have sex with an inmate, even if the sex is consensual.
Kalinich, 29, of Holdenville also is accused of one felony count of conspiring to smuggle drugs into the prison for the benefit of the inmate, James Black, 21, of Enid.
Black is serving a five-year sentence for second-degree burglary and concealing stolen property.
The state Department of Corrections launched an internal investigation into the relationship between Kalinich and Black in response to a June 8 request for assistance from Davis Correctional Facility officials, records show.
Kalinich was fired May 29 for "failure to follow company policy," according to Rebecca Adams, the warden's secretary.
Kalinich had worked at the prison for about eight months.

Physician charged with murder in killing of son, 9
OKLAHOMA CITY — Prosecutors on Wednesday charged a Nichols Hills doctor with first-degree murder in the stabbing death of his 9-year-old son.
Stephen Paul Wolf, 51, also was charged with assault and battery with a deadly weapon. Prosecutors allege that he stabbed his wife, too.
Wolf was arrested Nov. 16 after a police officer found him straddling his stabbed son in the kitchen of their suburban Oklahoma City home, an affidavit states.
Tommy Wolf died from multiple stab wounds, authorities said.
Stephen Wolf's wife, Mary Wolf, suffered cuts to her hands and face.
Stephen Wolf repeatedly said, "He's got the devil in him, and you know it," the affidavit states.
Wolf has had mental-health problems, according to records involving his medical license.
His troubles began in 1984 during his first year in medical school when he was hospitalized for major depression, the records indicate.

You know, I have to agree with dustyoutlaw. I moved here from Detroit thinking this was a better place for my family, but I have seen more crime here than I can believe. I'm wondering if this was a good move.

We moved here in the early 80s from a much larger city and felt that Tulsa was a nice, safe, smaller city.
Seems like crime has increased a lot over the past few years.
All things considered, I think our police force does a great job.
They don't create the crime or control the trend, but they do catch a large percentage of the criminals.

We have begged for help for over 2 years. Told they are working on a solution. Guess it is still on going. Shots are no longer a surprise in that area. Palmer has a hands off policy in that area. Means Bartlett kept him, the policy will no doubt remain.
