MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The University of Oklahoma is one step closer to the Final Four.
Blake Griffin had another big game, and guard Tony Crocker ended a long shooting slump as the Sooners roared past Syracuse 84-71 Friday night in an NCAA men's basketball tournament game at the FedExForum.
Second-seeded Oklahoma (30-5) advances to a game Sunday against top-seeded North Carolina (31-4) for the South Regional championship. Tipoff is at 4:05 p.m., and the game will be televised by KOTV, channel 6. The winner advances to the Final Four, which begins next Saturday in Detroit.
The Sooners never trailed against the Orange. Griffin, a 6-foot-10 sophomore forward, scored 30 points and grabbed 14 rebounds.
Crocker scored a career-high 28 points. The junior guard had made just five 3-point shots since mid-February. He made six 3-pointers against Syracuse.
