The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported two fatal traffic accidents occurred on state roads late Saturday.

In addition, OHP says, a fatal accident that occurred earlier in the week was discovered Saturday by a motorist traveling on the Indian Nations Turnpike in Choctaw County.

Jeffrey Alba, 48, of Erick, died Saturday in a one-car accident on Beckham County road just south of Erick.

A passenger in the vehicle, Gary Pigg, 45, of Erick, was transported to Great Plains Regional Medical Center and is listed in fair condition.

According to the OHP report, Alba was driving a 1996 Ford Explorer southbound on a county road at a high rate of speed when he lost control of the vehicle and it went off the road. The vehicle rolled twice, ejecting Alba about 100 feet.

He was pronounced dead at Sayre Memorial Hospital.

Alba was not wearing a seatbelt; Pigg was.

In a separate crash that occurred at 11:15 p.m. Saturday on U.S. 59 just south of Stilwell in Adair County, Robert Grimmett, 31, of Stilwell, died after the vehicle he was in ran off the road and rolled over.

Grimmett and the other occupant of the car, Michael Shell, 42, of Stilwell, were ejected from the vehicle .

Shell was taken to Washington Regional Hospital in Fayeteville, Ark., where he is listed in critical condition.

OHP was unable to determine who was driving the vehicle.

Neither occupant was wearing seat belts.

Meanwhile, William Czech,
56, of Rochester, Minn., died about 2 p.m. Tuesday when the Chevy pickup he was driving northbound on the Indian Nations Turnpike in Choctaw County went off the road, struck a fence and then hit a tree.

The vehicle, which came to a stop in thick brush several hundred feet off the road, was discovered Saturday when a motorist saw the reflection of a taillight and notified authorities.
