BENTONVILLE, Ark. — An Oklahoma couple charged with taking two children out of Arkansas without legal custody will remain in jail on $1 million bond each.

Showana Glasco and John Glasco are charged with felony interference with child custody in Benton County.

Defense attorney Rex Earl Starr requested a lower bond saying the $1 million bonds are excessive. But Circuit Judge Robin Green rejected the request saying the couple changed their appearance and used aliases to avoid police.

The two are accused of taking the Showana Glasco's children from the custody of the children's father in 1997. They were arrested in June.

Starr says the children are in state custody in Oklahoma. Benton County jail records show Showana Glasco as from Kinta, Okla., and John Glasco from Holdenville.

How sad for the children. I hope the best for all involved.

am i reading this right? They took these kids in 1997 and are JUST NOW getting caught? And their lawyer wants their bail lower so he can get them out and they can disappear again for another 12 years? Man...defense attorneys do not have a soul, heart, or brain! Prayers to these kids and their father for the rest of their lives are forever burdened and changed with these events!

Children are in state custody in Oklahoma. I am sure these kids have a lot to talk about. Circuit Judge Robin Green should take them to her house for a couple days and have a discussion on their future plans. Go shopping on the county.
