Tulsa World Weather: Stay updated on the latest forecast with complete coverage from the Weather Channel.

Parts of Oklahoma will bake in triple-digit heat while others see some relief on Saturday.

The National Weather Service said a cold front will approach northern sections of the state early Saturday and gradually push south across the area this weekend. Counties near the Kansas border could see cooler temperatures, but hot to very hot temperatures are possible elsewhere. Storm chances are expected to be highest in the north.

On Friday, skies were partly cloudy and temperatures ranged from 89 degrees in Foraker and Skiatook in northeast Oklahoma to 101 degrees in Buffalo and Hooker in northwest Oklahoma, according to the Oklahoma Mesonet. It was 100 degrees in Beaver, Cherokee and Freedom.

The temperature topped out at 94 degrees in Ponca City and Tulsa and reached 97 degrees in Altus, Frederick, Oklahoma City and Stillwater.

Skies should be partly cloudy on Saturday, with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms during the day and a better chance in the Panhandle Saturday night. Temperatures should range from the upper 80s to around 102 degrees before falling into the 60s and 70s overnight.

Partly to mostly cloudy skies will be the rule Sunday and Monday, with a chance of thunderstorms statewide on Sunday and mainly in the east on Monday. Temperatures are expected to

only reach the 80s and 90s both days. Lows Monday night should be in the 60s and 70s, forecasters said.

A stronger storm system will begin to affect the southern Plains on Tuesday and bring a better chance of precipitation to Oklahoma, the weather service said.

Skies should be partly to mostly cloudy Tuesday and Wednesday, with a chance of showers and storms both days, forecasters said. Highs in the 80s and 90s and lows in the 60s and 70s will continue both days.
