WEWOKA — The man accused of killing two Seminole County sheriff’s deputies will undergo a psychiatric evaluation to determine if he’s competent to aid in his legal defense, a judge ordered Wednesday.
Ezekiel Holbert, 26, is to be moved from Pottawtomie County’s jail to the Oklahoma Forensic Center, a state-run psychiatric hospital in Vinita.
Holbert is accused of shooting to death Chase Whitebird, 23, and Marvin Williams, 43, when the two deputies tried to arrest him July 26 at a home in Seminole.
Holbert faces first-degree murder charges. Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty.

It looks as if he was rough up, cops are like anyone else it's sometime hard to check your anger. At the same time they are held at higher standard and that's the way it should be. We don't know what caused the black eye, the only thing we can do is guess.

Of course he is mental. No one in their right mind can willingly take another persons life, but that shouldnt change the fact he is still guilty!

Evaluate, give him a fair trial, and hang the SOB.

I disagree.
If someone enters my home "uninvited", I have to assume that someone hasn't my family's best interests at heart. It then becomes "Do unto others before they do unto you".
Judging from your alias, you are rather religious and I do agree that I shouldn't be judging another.
Rather than judging a robber or burglar, (to paraphrase something I heard years ago), I'll gladly arrange the meeting with the One that will be doing the judging - and I will sleep well that night.

Sure it, TBOT. I think it was from his clumsiness. I think he kept falling down and hitting his eye on the tip of someone's boot. In watching the video on the news, he sure was sore the next day in court. He was flinching when he tried to stand or sit.
I truly hope they find him sane enough to do what needs to be done.

Next comment should be; "he slipped, and fell on a rope... and accidentally hung himself."

Just one more career criminal that we law-abiding citizens will have to pay for his upkeep while he is being "evaluated" to see if he knew what he was doing when he intentionally shot and killed two deputies! He joins the "hotel for criminals" at our expense, just like the other career criminal that had already killed before, severely injured two others in two separate car accidents BEFORE he was released by our "justice system" to kill again when he crushed a man between his own two vehicles earlier this month. I'll bet he ends up being "evaluated", too!
Yeah, we all have a right to a fair trial, and yeah, we are all guilty until proven innocent. But...they will do it over and over and over and over.....because they CAN!! In the meantime, we pay to house the people that killed our family because it's their "right".
I say...we know these people did it. What happened to true justice for true crimes? Why put them away to "evaluate" them; to make sure they are treated fairly and rightfully, like they treated the people that they killed?? Bull! Get the chair...period!
I feel awful for these poor families and their suffering and it seems it's just the beginning of it, too.

He was competent enough to gun down two police officers in cold blood, which to me says he is competent enough to hang for it.

I think going by what his family members have said, he definately should be evaluated to see if he is in his right mind. This has always been a standard procedure in the Justice system if there was a question of whether a person was sane or not. If he had killed my son or daughter, he would get an evaluation so why not in this case?? All families hurt the same when someone kills their loved ones. He should be treated the same way reguardless of Who he killed. What makes one person above another, that's not Justice either. I hope they find out for sure if he is in his right mind, because that does make a difference. Of course he has to pay for his crime but lets at least see if he is in need of mental help. The Bible State has a long way to go judging from many of the comments you read on these forums. Sometimes I cannot believe they call us the Bible Belt. Lets just give all killers the needle and do horriable things to them because that makes us so much like Jesus, No, that brings us to the same level that they're on. If we believe in the death penalty, then we are guilty of Murder to, so then we stoop to their level. I refuse to bring myself that low.
