STILLWATER -- A protective order filed against a former Oklahoma State University starting football player by another student was dropped Wednesday morning.

A woman filed for an emergency protective order Aug. 25 against Jamal Mosley, who was listed as the starting tight end for the Cowboys this season. He left the team earlier this week.

No one involved in the order appeared in the hearing at the Payne County Courthouse, and documentation pertaining to the order, including the order itself, was sealed.

Mosley is no longer enrolled at OSU, according to the OSU’s Bursar Office. The woman denied a request by the Daily O'Collegian for an interview, and Mosley has been unavailable for comment.

Special Judge Louis Duel dismissed the order at a scheduled hearing Wednesday morning.

Mosley, from Memphis, Tenn., played in 11 OSU games last season.

The 254-pound, 6-foot-4 former tight end had 57 receiving yards last year.

OSU football coach Mike Gundy issued a statement that Mosley was no longer with the team, but didn’t link the incedent to his departure, simply saying Mosley left for "personal reasons."

“He has been a good teammate and we wish him the best,” Gundy said. “We will have no further comment on this matter.”

Mosley’s Facebook status is “Transferring???????? why mal u better than that? ... i wish i was dreaming ... went from the top to rock bottom .... this cant be life.”

It was last updated Tuesday at 10:30.

On June 17, Mosley was charged with misdemeanor marijuana possession. He is set to appear in Payne County court on that charge in September.
