A man died shortly after a collision in Okmulgee County, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

According to reports, troopers responded just before midnight Monday to Oklahoma 16 east of 140 Road.

Troopers said the victim, whose identity has not been released pending next of kin notification, was driving west on Oklahoma 16 when his vehicle drifted off the road and struck an embankment.

The victim's truck overturned and started on fire before emergency personnel from both Okmulgee County and Beggs Police Department could pull the unconscious man to safety, according to reports.

Medics placed the victim in an ambulance, where he died moments later, according to troopers.
