OKC sheriff's deputies respond to shots fired report

NICOMA PARK — A man thought to be armed has locked himself in a home in northeast Oklahoma County.

A Nicoma Park police officer responding to a disturbance call at a home near NE 21 and Avery Avenue heard shots fired and called for the assistance of Oklahoma County deputies, Oklahoma County sheriff's spokesman Mark Myers said.

The sheriff's office tactical unit has been sent to the scene.

Others inside the house have surrendered to authorities, according to scanner traffic.
