PAULS VALLEY — Firefighters from Pauls Valley, Purcell, Walker and Wynnewood were called in this morning to battle a four alarm blaze at the historic Alvis Hotel.

The fire was reported about 6 a.m. and firefighters were still on the scene at 9 a.m.

The cause and nature of the fire have not been released. Video uploaded to YouTube this morning shows ladder trucks trying to dowse flames shooting out of the abandoned hotel in the 100 block of East Paul Street.

The Leland-Alvis Hotel was built in 1895 and is within the area of the downtown.
