VAN BUREN, Ark. — An Oklahoma man has pleaded not guilty in Arkansas to first-degree murder in the death of his girlfriend's 16-month-old daughter in Van Buren.
The Crawford County Public Defender's Office entered the plea Wednesday on behalf of 26-year-old Devin Alex Pendleton of Pocola, Okla. Pendleton was arrested Oct. 10 following the death of the girl on Oct. 6 at Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock.
Court documents say Pendleton admitted to police that he shook the child and threw against a concrete floor on Oct. 4 at the home of the girl's mother — Sara Shores.

Maybe he should be shook and thrown against a concrete floor.

Same old song, 100th verse, mom's boyfriend killing her child. Too bad they can't throw the stupid mom in prison for taking up with such a loser. It seems most younger women now days are more interested in getting a man, than looking out for the safety of their own children.

Nobody but nobody has ever put their hands on my children nor will they ever! You know, one time my ten yr old son was being disrespectful to me and my boyfriend said to him that if he thought he was such a big man to talk that way to me then they could go outside and prove just how big he was. He's not my boyfriend anymore. I'd rather be single and my children be safe! What a loser!

All mothers, single or not, must realize that their number one life responsbility is the welfare of their children. The vast majority of these babies / toddlers that die a violent death come at the hands of the mother's boyfriend. These single mothers must think of their children first.

How many babies have to die before these "mothers" start putting their children before a loser boyfriend?? Better yet, why not really punish these animals the way they deserve? Seems to me like children are victimized twice over.....once by the animals who hurt or kill them, then again by the lame punishments that the deviants get for committing these heinous crimes.

Um, on what basis does he think he is not guilty? Is he saying that he didn't realize that what he did would hurt the child?
Nice try, jerk.

They should let the family take him out behind the barn.
