Four people to face trial in Altus killing

ALTUS — Four people accused in the killing of an Altus resident will stand trial on murder charges.

Jackson County District Judge Brad Leverett ruled Tuesday that Sedrick Sanders and Patrick Robinson will be tried for the killing of Hai Phan. Two other defendants waived a preliminary hearing. A hearing for a fifth person accused in the killing has been continued.

Testimony indicated Phan was shot and robbed of $600 after two of the defendants gave him and two friends a ride from a nightclub to the apartment complex.

The judge found two women in contempt of court and sentenced them to two days of jail time after an outburst at Tuesday's hearing.
