NICHOLS HILLS — A Nichols Hills physician was arrested on a murder complaint this morning in connection with the death of his 9-year-old son, officials said.
Stephen P. Wolf, 51, is being held without bail in the Oklahoma County jail, a jail spokeswoman said. Police Chief Richard Mask said Wolf's son Tommy, 9, died this morning shortly after officers responded to the Wolf residence near Pennsylvania Avenue and Wilshire Boulevard.
"I can't perceive it happening anywhere anytime but it does and Nichols Hills is not that much different from any other community," Mask said. "I know that sounds strange, but people are people and everyone has their problems"
There were three 911 calls. The first 911 call came about 3:55 a.m. from a neighbor, Mask said. Two more calls placed by Mary M. Wolf, Stephen's wife and Tommy's mother, came from the Wolf residence soon after.

it seems to me the tulsa world should've withheld publishing the name of the victim until released by the authority. it is sad that our country and state has degraded this much.

I'm assuming that Nichols Hills is a neighborhood near or in Oklahoma City. Why isn't that made clear in the article? Not everyone is familiar with the location.
It looks like Dr. Wolf may have resisted arrest, or did his son fight back?
My sympathies to the family of the child. It's very tragic when a child dies but even more so if a family member is responsible.
I hope there is enough evidence to prove the facts of the case clearly.

Man. . I have a nine-year old son. . what in the world? I can't imagine much of anything my son could do that I would kill him!
Sounds to me like dad was drinking probably went after mom and the son tried to get him to stop.

The article does say the mother was attacked when she tried to defend her son. Sounds like the guy had snapped, as a result of the law suit he was up against, and was trying to take out his whole family. Guy was probably going to try and take hiw own life afterwards. Amazing what is going on in the world today. Heartbreaking to know the children are suffering.

What in the heck could a 9 year old boy do to make a father kill him? Whether the father had legal problems is not an out to kill or hurt anyone else. This world has gone to hell in a handbasket.

For anyone who "needs more info", the full 10 minute+ interview with the police chief is on KOTV's site. There is a lot of information there. Police had to disarm the suspect when they arrived at the home, he was holding a knife.
