OKLAHOMA CITY - The 28-year-old man accused of killing four adults and two unborn children in southwest Oklahoma City was arraigned today.
Bail was denied for David Allen Tyner of Locust Grove.
An arraignment is the court hearing where a defendant is officially told what he is charged with. Tyner kept his head down as Oklahoma County Special Judge Russell Hall said he faces six first-degree murder counts.
Tyner is accused in the Nov. 9 deaths of four adults and two unborn children. Firefighters found the bodies in a burned rent house in southwest Oklahoma City.
Killed were: Jennifer Lynn Ermey, 25, of Edmond; Casey Mark Barrientos, 32, of Oklahoma City; Milagros C. Barrera, 22, of Mustang and her unborn child; and Brooke Phillips, 22, of Moore and her unborn child.

Interesting, though.
Consider that he might be tried in a Federal court. "Federal" being the key word.
If he is found guilty of "killing two unborn babies," what will that do to Federal court decisions regarding abortions?
Perhaps I'm overlooking something. Perhaps it's not that cut-and-dry. But it seems to me that if if a doctor cannot be tried and convicted for terminating a life, then logically, this guy can only be accused of murdering 4.
Or is he being tried in a State court? Because then the court decision wouldn't force a re-evaluation of other court rulings.
Either that, or I have no concept of how our judicial system works.

Mr. Ecktion - I had the same thought about the murder charge for the unborn babies. I think he should be chaged with their muder, but since Docs can do it 'legally' guess it depends on who kills the baby a Dr. or a regular Joe.
